How to photograph your documents correctly
Documents photographed with a mobile phone are automatically cropped and straightened. For this to work, the edge detection needs a clear distinction between the document and the background. Four simple points are sufficient.

Choose a dark background
Place the white sheet of paper on a dark surface – a dark table, a cloth, or a folder. The greater the contrast between the paper and the background, the more reliably the scan function will detect the edges.

Leave the edge uncut
Photograph the entire page with some space around it. It's better to have a slightly larger margin than a cut-off corner – cropping will be done automatically, and missing text cannot be added.

Provide plenty of light
Daylight or a bright lamp. Position yourself so that your own shadow doesn't fall on the document. It's best to avoid using the flash – it creates reflections.

Keep your distance, keep straight
Maintaining a slight distance from the document prevents blurry images. Hold your phone flat above the document, parallel to the paper, and only press the shutter button when the image is in focus.
One document per photo. For multi-page documents, photograph each page individually.
